Located in the Nainital district of Uttarakhand, Jim Corbett National Park is a significant part of the Corbett Tiger Reserve, designated as a Project Tiger Reserve. Renowned for its enchanting landscape and abundant tiger population, Corbett holds the distinction of being India's oldest and most prestigious National Park. Originally established in 1936 as Hailey National Park, it also holds the honor of being the inaugural site for Project Tiger in 1973. Recognized as the birthplace of Project Tiger in India, this distinctive tiger territory serves as a crucial sanctuary for protecting the endangered species known as the Royal Tigers of India. Encompassing an expansive area of 520 square kilometers, the park features diverse topography, including hills, marshy depressions, riverine belts, grasslands, and a large lake.
